Who is @mostlygeek?

Hi!

If you’re looking at this page then most likely you’ve come from my Twitter profile page, http://twitter.com/mostlygeek

Thanks for being curious enough to want to know a bit more about me.

You are currently on my blog which I post to whenever I have an interesting idea or a project to share. Recently I’ve been writing about real estate, twitter, event driven programming and sleeping well. So far the sleeping well posts have garnered the most interest. Go figure. :)

My About page contains  information about what I’m passionate about, where I’m taking my career and how to get in contact with me.

My Twitter Usage Guidelines

I find these guidelines help keep Twitter fun and valuable to me. Copy if it works for you, but your mileage may vary.

  1. I follow people who might be interesting. I can always unfollow later.
  2. I follow people who post interesting links and information that expands my knowledge.
  3. I don’t automatically follow back. Before following back I check out your blog and your follow worthiness.
  4. I follow friend’s and family. I’m interested in what they ate for lunch.
  5. I unfollow often. My attention is finite. It is important that I spend it on what is interesting to me. Don’t take it personally, or do and be more interesting to me. :)
  6. I unfollow when I lose interest.
  7. I unfollow when I think there is more noise than signal, aka spam.
  8. I like to have conversations and network. So I’m more interested in people who I can interact with.
  9. Having many followers is a great ego boost. However fewer followers that give me feedback is more valuable than a million that I never talk to.
  10. It’s Twitter. Relax.
